Publicis Groupe closed the third quarter the way it's closed most of the last two years, ahead of where analysts expected it to land. Organic revenue grew 5 percent in the quarter, beating the company-provided consensus of 4.8 percent, while net revenue rose 7.9 percent to 3.81 billion euros, or roughly 4.26 billion dollars. The holding company reaffirmed its full-year guidance of 4.5 to 5 percent organic net revenue growth, an annual operating margin slightly above last year's 18.2 percent, and free cash flow of about 2.2 billion euros.
Where the growth is actually coming from
Publicis has spent the last several quarters pointing to a specific driver behind its numbers: client demand for AI-powered marketing products and services. This quarter, that showed up concretely inside two of the company's capability groups. Connected Media, the media-buying and performance side of the business, grew high single digits, while Intelligent Creativity, the AI-assisted content and creative arm, grew in the single digits. Those aren't explosive numbers on their own, but they're the two units Publicis has built its AI narrative around, and both grew.
The PepsiCo win is the headline new-business number
Net new business, contract wins minus losses, reached 2.2 billion dollars for the quarter. The standout name in that total is PepsiCo, whose media account Publicis picked up in a widely watched review. The company said the PepsiCo win alone secures roughly 2 percentage points of growth heading into next year, which matters more than the headline dollar figure because it's growth that's already locked in before the next fiscal year even starts.
